If you are looking for a different type of holiday and would like to know the green Spain, this is the private site where you will find properties to rent from Spanish families, in places where the Spaniards from Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, and many parts of the 'hot' Spain go for their holidays. To cover an increasing demand of many of our customers, we have added a new section of 'Properties for Sale' where you will see some of the best properties to buy as a second home or for investment. We will be adding new properties every week. About Galicia
Galicia, also known as the green Spain, is an unspoilt treasure waiting to be discovered. Galicia is an ideal location for lovers of nature, with coastal areas of extreme beauty, and mountains with marvellous forests and rivers.
The soft weather of this Celtic region, and the excellent quality of food and wine along with the many 'fiestas' all through the year, (mainly during summer months), makes it a perfect destination for families or romantic trips, or just to enjoy peace, nature and good living.
Galicia has more than a thousand km of coastline with marvellous estuaries, classified in Rías Altas and Rías Bajas, depending if they are in the north or in the west coast. The 'Rías Baixas' are ideal and save to practice sailing in summer, and in the Rías Altas you can see spectacular cliffs, and unpolluted beaches.
Also the interior part of Galicia is a paradise with its mountains, forests and rivers to enjoy.
About Santiago de Compostela
Santiago, a famous historical city, renowned for its cathedral of St. James, end of the 'Camino de Santiago', is lively and welcoming with its exquisite seafood restaurants and 'tapas' bars. Santiago de Compostela is a hive of cultural activities, (mainly from June to September) ranging from concerts, theatre, musical events, art exhibitions, open air cinema, etc., not to mention the great atmosphere and street life, well into the night, and local festivals all around. Santiago de Compostela was named a Cultural Capital of Europe in recent years, and usually the hotels and acommodation facilities are fully booked in summer. It is recommended to hire a car and make short excursions to the fishing ports of La Coruña, Vigo, and nearby Portugal, all connected by the 'Autopista del Atlántico'.
